Motivational Tips To Help You Stick With Your Fast Weight Loss Plan

By Rob Poulos...

One thing that most people find they really struggle with as they go about their fast weight loss plans is staying motivated to continue.  At the beginning it’s easy – you’re seeing great results, you’re motivated and looking forward to seeing the results of your hard work.

Usually you will progress rather rapidly right off the start so that progress just fuels that motivation and for those first few weeks, you can’t wait to hit the gym for another workout.

But as time goes on and your results begin to slow down, your motivation takes a turn for the worse.  Now getting to the gym is the last thing you feel like doing and the thought of another plate of chicken breast and steamed broccoli is enough to make you just skip the meal entirely.

What do you do when this happens?  How can you maintain that initial motivation you had to start with so that you can carry on with your intended weight loss plan?

Let’s take a look at a few of the key secrets that you should remember if you want to keep your motivation high at all times.

Get A Workout Buddy

By far, one of the most effective ways to stay motivated is to get yourself a workout buddy.  Having someone there who is going to support your efforts and fuel your motivation in times of need can go a long way towards keeping you on track and with the program.

Plus, when you know someone else is counting on you to show up for your workout sessions, you are far more likely to show up ready to workout.  Furthermore, the social aspect of having that workout buddy in the first place is also a big motivational factor for many.

They simply prefer working out with someone rather than going at it alone.

Set Some Mini-Challenges

Another very good technique to keep your motivation levels high is to set some mini-challenges. While you always have your long-term weight loss goals that you’re working towards, at times it can be hard to see the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’.  If you aren’t going to be reaching that goal–realistically, for at least a few months–it can be highly difficult to keep pushing yourself forward.

That’s where the mini-challenges come into play.  Try and set one mini-goal that you want to accomplish with each and every workout session.  Perhaps it’s reducing your rest down to 30 seconds between sets or lifting five more pounds when doing your squats.

Whatever the challenge is, make sure you set something.  Big or small, it will give each workout session its own purpose.

Don’t Forget To Have Rewards

Third, it’s also important that you do have some type of reward system in place.  We can’t deny the fact that we as humans are motivated by positive reinforcement so setting a reward for yourself – be it a session at the spa or a night out at the movies with your significant other, you’ll be that much more motivated to keep up your weight loss efforts.

Just be sure that you hold yourself accountable and only reward yourself when you actually accomplish your long term or mini goals.

So there you have a few quick and simple things that you can do to stay motivated with your fast weight loss plan.  Even if you can use just one or two of these, you should see a marked difference in your results.
