1. Beans.  Packed full of fiber and essential nutrients, beans aren’t just a great way to have a healthy digestive system–evidence shows it can help you eat less.  According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition, researchers found that people who boosted their fiber intake by 8 grams lost an additional 4 1/2 pounds.  That’s less than a cup of beans!

2. Chili peppers.  Sure, the spiciness of chili peppers can be a bit daunting, but it’s really worth adding to your diet–evidence shows that the chemical in chili peppers that makes it spicy, called capsaicin, can promote fullness.  That means you’ll eat fewer calories without feeling deprived.

3. Lean turkey breast.  While it may not be as flavorful as beef or pork, it’s a great food for slimming down–evidence shows that high protein diets make people feel less hungry when compared to low to moderate protein diets.  Try in in salad or a pita wrap for an easy way to slim down.

4. Celery.  Containing less than 10 calories per serving, it’s hard to overindulge in this fibrous veggie; better yet, it works as a filler for any meal.  For an easy way to add bulk to your meal, try this: Dice up celery, add seasonings such as pepper powder and salt, and toss into your favorite salad or stir fry.

Pickles.  If you’re craving something crunchy, don’t reach for chips–reach for a few slices of pickles instead.  Unlike chips, pickles contain very few calories but have the essential micronutrients you need to stay healthy.  Other options: For bulkier sandwiches, add a few slices with turkey and low-fat cheese.

Oatmeal.  Paired with cinnamon and a dash of sugar, oatmeal is a delicious way to start your day–and with a whopping 4 grams of dietary fiber per serving, it’s also a great way to stay full.  Evidence suggests it also contains other healthy benefits such as the ability to lower blood cholesterol and blood pressure.

7. Spinach.  For a healthier body and slimmer bod, most celebrities load up on spinach.  Why?  Thankfully, it contains virtually no calories while filling you up fast–plus, it tastes great in a light salad!  Research also shows that people who eat a diet rich in fiber, such as people who eat spinach, tend to have less visceral fat.
