SUPER AFFILIATE LESSON
1
PPC
SECRETS OF THE GOOGLE ADWORDS CONTENT
NETWORK
This lesson focuses
on how to use the Google Adwords
content network to get massive
traffic and dirt cheap clicks.
This is a PPC method that is quite
uncommon, and not a lot of affiliates
are even aware of
it...Why?
Because most Adwords
books or gurus tell you to stay away from
running ads on the content network because
of click fraud and low conversion
rates. Well, there is certainly some
truth to that...BUT...what I've found is
that in several markets (including fat
loss), you can use the Adwords content
network successfully...VERY
successfully-
-in fact, I
use this same method in dozens of markets
generate hundreds and even thousands of
clicks per day for not only FBF, but
several other affiliate eBooks and
Clickbank products...so I know it
works.
Before we get started on
how to quickly set up one of these campaign
for FBF, you should have some basic
understanding of how to set up an run an
Adwords campaign, or else a lot of what I'm
going to tell you will be difficult to
understand. If you're new to Adwords
or PPC, I suggest you visit this
website:
http://www.MyAdwordsSecrets.com
There
you'll find the best book I've ever read on
quickly setting up profitable Adwords
campaigns. It's great for beginners
and intermediate PPC marketers
too.
Okay,
back to my method. By the way, I am
making recommendations here on certain
settings in the campaign you'll be setting
up. These are as important as the
method itself, so please take note.
Here's how it works:
Set
Up Your Campaign
First, you set up a
Keyword Targeted campaign in your Adwords
account. Not a Placement Targeted
campaign, as most Content network campaigns
are. We need to set it up as a
Keyword Targeted
Campaign.
Give
it a name, then set your daily budget at
$100. Google gives preference to
those who have higher daily budgets than
those who have lower
ones...
...next, set the delivery
method of your ads to "Accelerated".
This will show your ads as quickly as
possible.
Now,
here are 2 MAJOR
settings we must make to our
campaign:
1.
Turn ON the Content Network by checking the
"Content Network" box, and turn OFF the
rest of the networks by un-checking the
"Google Search", "Search Network", and
"Content Bids" boxes.
This
will show your ads on the Content Network
only.
2.
Set your locations to "All Countries &
Territories".
Again, this
goes against what the Adwords gurus will
tell you, BUT for this type of campaign, it
will give you boat loads of traffic for
dirt cheap clicks.
I get
FBF sales all the time from countries like
Brazil, Greece, Malaysia, etc. If I
had kept these settings to just a few
English speaking countries, I would simply
be losing out on sales!!!
Alright,
those are the basic settings of this
campaign. The next thing we need to
do is get our adgroups and the keywords for
those adgroups. Here's how we do
it:
The
key here is to start with 10-20 adgroups,
each of which represents a slightly
different theme. With this type of
campaign, Google will look at the keywords
in each adgroup, along with the ad copy and
the landing page, and give your adgroup a
theme.
It will then
go out and place your ads on web pages it
think are relevant to that theme.
So-
-for
FBF, some of the themes you can try are
fairly obvious:
Fat
Burning Exercise
Fat Loss
Diet
Weight Loss
Program
Each
of these themes would be its own
adgroup. You can also get more
specific with themes like "Abs exercises"
even though FBF is not directly selling an
abs course. We can do this because on
the Content Network, the quality score for
your ads is specific only to the web page
it is on, and does NOT affect the rest of
your adgroup or campaign.
This
is brilliant for us, because we can then
send loads of somewhat related traffic to
our FBF offer and get sales. Do you
think someone interested in abs exercises
probably might be interested in losing fat
elsewhere? Probably...YES! So
send 'em to FBF and watch the sales roll
in.
Now,
to get more adgroups/themes, I would
recommend using Wordtracker. You can
check it out here and get a FREE trial as
well:
http://www.fatburningfurnace.com/Wordtracker
I
recommend Wordtracker because the paid tool
will give you a bunch of lateral keyword
phrases that you can use to create new
adgroups/themes that you would never ever
think of yourself. This is the best
way to expand the campaign well beyond the
initial 10-20 adgroups.
Okay,
now that you've got your adgroups...the
next step is to plug 'em in, one by one, to
the Google Keyword Tool in your Adwords
account. (We're done with Wordtracker
at this point).
What this
will do is generate up to 150 relevant
keywords to that specific adgroup theme,
helping Google determine what pages to
place your ads on.
By
the way...I created a video of me taking
you through most the steps I just
detailed...I highly recommend you spend a
few minutes and watch it right now to
solidify this in your mind before your
begin. Once finished, come back to
learn the rest of this method (ad writing,
etc.). The video can be found

Write Your
Ads
Next,
you've got to write a compelling ad that
gets clicks. Any ad will get some
clicks, but good ads will get more, and get
more buyers to click. There are
several approaches here, but two of the
best ad styles I've ever used for FBF
are:
1.
Personal Ad
This is where
you write the ad like it's being spoken on
a person to person basis, so it doesn't
look so much like an ad. Here's an
example ad that I use very
successfully. If you decide to use
it, please create YOUR OWN version...don't
copy the ad exactly...that will just water
down both of our results.
Big
Fat Burning Secret
I used to be
fat and unhealthy
until I found
this 1 secret.
FatBurningFurnace.com
See how it
doesn't look so much like an ad? This
helps you get more clicks. The
message about finding "1 secret" is also a
great one because when someone hits the FBF
sales letter, they're look for...you
guessed it...what that 1 secret is!
This typically keeps them on the page
longer and reading more...which leads to
more sales for you.
Also, you
can't list FatBurningFurnace.com as your
display domain, since Google is really
cracking down on multiple ads using the
same display domain on the Content
Network...they'll just suspend your
ads. So...go ahead and get your own
domain and simply forward it to your FBF
affiliate link. EASY!
2. Shocker
Personal Ad
The other
type of ad I really find pulls in sales is
similar to the 1st type, in that it still
comes across as person to person, but this
one has more shock value to
it.
Fad
Diet Plans Suck
Get real -
fad diets don't work
but this
burns body fat fast.
FatBurningFurnace.com
Again, don't copy these
ads exactly...write YOUR OWN ads...just use
these as a guide.
Lastly,
regarding ads, because your running your
ads on webpages and not on the Google
search results, you can afford to run the
EXACT SAME ad for nearly every adgroup if
you'd like.
You don't
want to change your ad to target the theme
of the adgroup if it's much different from
the focus of FBF. For instance...if
your adgroup theme is "celebrity weight
loss", don't write an ad about
celebrities...when they click on it and get
to my FBF page, they'll see nothing about
celebrities.
Write
the ad about what FBF will do for
them.
Alright,
finally, you'll need to set your max bid
prices. Set these up at the Adgroup
level, not the keyword level. You're
not bidding on keywords here. My
advice is to start at about 7-8 cents per
click. You'll get a lot of traffic
fast, but at this price per click, the
campaign may only break even.
BUT-
-this
is important because if you start out too
low, you'll have trouble getting any ads
shown at first. So, run it at 7-8
cents per day for 2-3 days, then drop your
max bid to 5-6 cents for 2 more days.
Then, drop it to 3-4 cents and see if
you're still getting a good number of
clicks.
At
this point, you can try 2-3 cents and see
how the traffic is. Most affiliates
who are using this method, find they can
double their money when bidding 2-4 cents
per click. At that point it's just a
matter of create more adgroups/themes to
generate more traffic.
And once you
have this campaign rocking (usually after a
couple of weeks) there is little to do to
manage it. You don't have to check
keywords everyday...this is as close to a
"set it and forget it" type of PPC campaign
as I've ever seen.
One Last
Thing...Tracking
You'll also want to track
your ads and adgroups to see where your
sales are coming from. It is not
necessary or helpful to track this type of
campaign at the keyword level because we're
not bidding on
keywords.
The easiest way is
to track your content network
campaigns is to use the Clickbank
tracking link, which is basically
tacking on "/?tid=xxxxxxxx" to your
existing hop link like
this:
http://YOURAFFILIATEID.zthfitness.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=cg5a2
Clickbank limits the
tracking link to 8 characters, so I would
suggest developing a key where you have a
number corresponding to each
metric.
So your tid
could look something like this: cg5a2
where:
c = type of
campaign (Content)
g5 = adgroup
#5
a2 = ad
#2
You would
then need to put this link, each with it's
own tracking id in your ad's destination
url.
Okay,
that's it. Those are the nuts and
bolts of this powerful type of
campaign. Remember, watch the video
where I take you step by step in generating
the adgroups and Adwords campaign
settings. Then, get started with your
own Content Network campaign for FBF...and
let the flood of cheap traffic and sales
begin.
